Accounting Associate BR at Distro – Bogotá

Our team is a high-growth, sustainable eCommerce business dedicated to reducing waste and supporting local communities. We are expanding our U.S. operations and seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our founding finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and help build financial operations from the ground up.

Role: Accounts Assistant

Schedule: Full-time, Monday Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST (US Timezone)

Primary Focus: Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, and Month-End Support

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the accounts payable inbox, process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, resolve queries, and prepare weekly payment runs.

Perform daily bank reconciliations, process corporate card expenses, and assist with updating weekly cashflow forecasts.

Support month-end close by preparing journal entries (accruals/prepayments), reconciling balance sheets, and investigating cost variances.

Maintain organized documentation for audits and assist with cost analysis reports.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

12 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with solid knowledge of accounts payable and basic accounting principles.

Proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables and Formulas). Experience with QuickBooks or Bill.com is highly desirable.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to maintain excellent vendor relationships.
