About This Position
Gray Line Tennessee is Nashville's Leader in Transportation with over 200 vehicles in the fleet and nearly 400 employees dedicated to providing safe, authentic, and professional transportation services. We currently operate five distinct businesses, all of which are oriented toward safety, quality, and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls to our livery and charter dispatch department
- Oversees, reviews, and/or assigns equipment utilization, inspects, and verifies attendance reporting, arranges for emergency coverage of line runs and charters and be willing to fill in when the need arises
- Notifies appropriate personnel in case of Operator emergencies and disruptions or cancellations of service
- Reviews complaints and conducts factual investigations, and recommends appropriate course of action
- Ensures that all supervisor, chauffeur and driver activities are completed: Driver Logs, passenger count, Ticket procedures
- Oversees drivers and chauffeurs and resolves issues and requests
- Makes sure all policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles based on workload
- Make sure all drivers have confirmed upcoming work
- Update dispatch grids and trip schedule
- Establish rapport for drivers and chauffeurs
- Maintain a close working relationship with our other departments
- Communicate with drivers, chauffeurs and clients by email and telephone
- Must take a proactive approach to all operational duties example: Scheduling of vehicles, drivers & hotels and maintaining the maintenance schedule of vehicles
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- Must be able to work quickly, but with high attention to accuracy and detail.
- Must be able to work independently without constant supervision, and be able to make independent decisions
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced department with the ability to follow through with each task given
- Ability to adapt to ongoing changes in procedures and policies
- Must be able to work under pressure and problem solve
- Must understand, interpret, apply laws, rules, regulations and policies
- Ability to learn and monitor bus-based communication technology applications in a timely manner
- Knowledge of transportation industry and dispatch, scheduling is a plus
- Must be able to be to work - days, nights & weekends
- Requires a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and ability to work with driver’s, staff, and customers
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attendance record
- Team Player
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of dispatch experience required.
- 1 year of customer service experience required.
Status: Full time, non-exempt.
