  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Institutional Giving Directors, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability for results.
  • Personally manage relationships with the organization’s most strategic funders, including executive-level engagement with leadership.
  • Translate complex programmatic initiatives into compelling narratives, high-quality proposals, and funding strategies that resonate with diverse institutional funders.
  • Build and maintain systems, processes, and workflows that strengthen fundraising effectiveness and organizational capacity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with program, finance, and executive leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and student impact goals.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, set institutional fundraising priorities, and ensure the achievement of ambitious revenue targets.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in institutional fundraising or development within mission-driven organizations.
  • Proven success leading institutional fundraising strategy and managing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure substantial multi-year investments from private foundations, corporations, and public funders.
  • Experience managing complex, diversified portfolios across multiple regions or community contexts.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including advanced proposal and grant writing expertise.
  • Strong strategic thinking, organization, and execution in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.
  • Ability to mentor and inspire staff while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with program, finance, and executive teams to advance organizational priorities.
  • Commitment to improving student outcomes and advancing the mission of the organization.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $156,808–$217,686 per year, with starting salaries adjusted for experience and role level.
  • Fully remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States, with moderate national travel required.
  • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees; additional coverage for dependents partially subsidized.
  • 4% 401(k) match and Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare, and commuter expenses.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and professional development opportunities.
  • Generous paid time off: 22 days per year for the first three years, increasing with tenure, plus 16 paid holidays including floating holidays.
  • Inclusive, collaborative culture that values individual strengths, encourages growth, and emphasizes impact on students and educators.
