Summary:
Job Title: Junior Planner
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Work Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary Range: CA$4,5000.00 – CA$6,0000.00
Location: Aurora, Ontario
As a Junior Planner for Production and Materials, you will be responsible for materials planning, production scheduling and inventory control to meet customer demands in a high mix & low volume manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute production schedules in the ERP system to meet both customer and internal demands while maximizing production efficiency and optimizing inventory levels.
- Maintain and adjust master production schedules, participating in weekly planning meetings to align on material availability and production capacity.
- Act as a liaison between Customer Service, internal stakeholders, and Production to ensure delivery commitments are met for all orders.
- Manage inventory levels to maintain smooth production flow within target thresholds, tracking material movement and demand trends to identify bottlenecks and forecast potential issues.
- Analyze inventory data and demand trends to prioritize or reschedule production orders in coordination with material and service delivery schedules.
- Upload and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in the ERP system, ensuring accurate cost setup and updates.
- Support physical inventory counts and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, including workflow monitoring, warehouse management, and capacity planning.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the production planning function.
What You’ll Bring:
- College diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central is an asset.
- Strong understanding of MPS/MRP, demand forecasting, inventory management and materials pipelines.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in production scheduling or planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting (Power Query knowledge is an asset).
- Supply chain certification (CSCMP, CPIM, or equivalent) or actively working towards completion is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
