Patient Care Tech, Sitters - North at Hendrick Medical Center – Abilene, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

Patient Care Techs (PCTs) provide personal care, health-related services, and assist with activities of daily living. PCTs function under the direction, instruction, and supervision of nursing staff. They attend to those who are being treated to manage illness and/or recovering from a procedure or surgical intervention. PCTs working/floating to PCU, IMCU, or CCU units provide care for primarily adult patients who require cardiac monitoring. PCTs have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, improvement initiatives, and continuing education.

• CPR-BCLS

• Input data into computer programs.
• Communication and public relation skills.
• Obtain manual or electronic vital signs.
• Work with therapeutic equipment.
• Answer telephones.
• Collaborate care with nurses and report patient concerns promptly.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Ensures excellent time and attendance.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow HIPAA Compliance.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times.
