The position combines technical vision, strategic thinking, and practical execution in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.Accountabilities:
- Define and own the architectural strategy for high-scale, cloud-native systems, aligning technology with long-term business objectives.
- Design and evolve enterprise systems emphasizing scalability, maintainability, observability, and security.
- Create architectural blueprints, reusable frameworks, and standards to guide engineering teams in developing high-performance services and applications.
- Act as a technical thought partner across engineering leadership, product managers, and executive stakeholders, providing mentorship and cultivating a culture of architectural excellence.
- Lead modernization initiatives, including migration to service-oriented or event-driven architectures, and introduce emerging technologies to improve system resilience and developer productivity.
- Partner with AI/ML teams to integrate intelligent services and real-time analytics at scale.
- Maintain a system-level view to anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk, and provide guidance for hands-on solution design and technical troubleshooting.
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 6 years in a senior architectural leadership role.
- Proven expertise in designing and scaling enterprise software systems, preferably in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
- Experience leading architectural transformation initiatives, including service decomposition, domain-driven design, and platform re-architecture.
- Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs including performance, resilience, cost, and security.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in scientific, healthcare, or lab operations domains, including familiarity with LIMS/LES systems and regulated software environments.
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills grounded in empathy, curiosity, and impact.
