Overview

Montech Inc. is seeking a qualified Biomedical Equipment Specialist in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The ideal candidate will be a dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and effective medical care through the utilization of advanced biomedical technology and to ensure optimal performance of medical, dental, diagnostic, and life-support equipment, enhancing patient safety and regulatory compliance. Summary of Responsibilities

The Biomedical Equipment Specialist will provide professional biomedical equipment support and clinical engineering services to ensure the safe, reliable, effective, and economical operation of medical, dental, diagnostic, therapeutic, laboratory, imaging, and life-support equipment used in the delivery of patient care. These services are critical to patient safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and continuity of clinical operations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Senior-level biomedical equipment support services encompassing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, calibration, installation, and documentation of work through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and calibrations on complex diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive inventories and records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including service histories and preventive maintenance logs.
  • Evaluate and inspect new biomedical equipment prior to introduction into service and establish preventive maintenance plans.
  • Analyze equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Act as a technical consultant to clinical staff and participate in various safety and equipment committees.
  • Support equipment planning, acquisition, construction, and renovation activities.

Qualifications

The Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in biomedical equipment support within a healthcare environment.

  • Expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of complex biomedical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards including Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA 99, AAMI, ANSI, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Experience in managing vendor service contracts and overseeing third-party maintenance services.
  • Ability to provide expert consultation and committee participation.
  • Proficient in using CMMS systems.

Security

Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass the pre-employment drug test and a federal security investigation (background check) in order to obtain a U.S. Department Health and Human Services Public Trust clearance prior to start date. The background investigation reviews employment, criminal, financial, and personal history to ensure there are no outstanding violations. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen to work in support of a federal agency.
