JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title: Specialist 1-3, Regional Service
Reports To: Manager, Sales Technical Training

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing technical services, training, and warranty support to Bendix Product lines, and Knorr-Bremse customer bases, including OEM's, Independent Distributors, Fleets, Trailer Customers and internal colleagues. This is a position within the Regional Service Specialist group and essential functions will have a slight focus on training and developing the employee. Duties are performed under close supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor Troubleshoot Air, Foundation Brake, and Electronic Safety Systems such as Antilock Brakes, Electronic Stability Control, radar-based Collision Avoidance and tire pressure monitoring.
- Assist in conducting training for Bendix customers on the proper installation and maintenance of components and systems.
- Work with conducting Factory Product Schools, at various locations within the assigned region.
- Assist in installing, removing, monitoring, or testing brake and safety system components as requested by Bendix/KB Engineering.
- Support Account Managers by providing them and their customers with training and product support.
- Assist Regional Manager and Account Managers in development of marketing strategies.
- Assist with programming, installing, monitoring, removing electronic data recorders/memorators as part of the troubleshooting process
- Work with entering customer contact data in CRM tool daily/weekly, capturing customer issues and documenting resolutions.
Knowledge:
- Familiar with knowledge of operation and maintenance of commercial vehicle products such as Air, Foundation Braking, and Electronic Control Systems.
- Basic knowledge of heavy truck industry, OEMs, suppliers, distribution channels and trade associations.
- Exposure to knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures.
- General knowledge of customer business and how they operate.
Experience:
- Vehicle system troubleshooting experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
- Specialist 1 = 3+ years’ experience
- Specialist 2 = 5+ years’ experience
- Specialist 3 = 10+ years’ experience
- Strong experience in mechanical and electronical related products relating to commercial vehicles.
Skills:
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to uncover root causes and key drivers of product performance issues.
- Good use of creative/innovative solutions to resolve complex problems/issues.
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills. Capable of conducting presentations to leadership and small or large groups.
- Self-starter. Set your own schedule and manage your time to meet customer demands.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Must be able to prioritize the workload, selecting the customer requests that will benefit the company most.
- Strong use of electronic test equipment such as Digital Voltmeter, Data Recorders, and Computer Diagnostics.
- Good use of hand tools.
- Strong Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook use.
- Strong capability of performing in a customer-focused, team-based matrix organization is essential.
- Good Capability of successfully performing independently as well as in a team setting.
- Strong capability of meeting tight deadlines.
- Good training and/or experiences for self-development.
- Strong Bi-Lingual - English/Spanish preferred.
Education:
- Associate’s degree required. Preferred area of study in Heavy Automotive Equipment Technology or related field.
- B.S degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing discipline preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or similar certification in brake systems preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Must be able to travel both domestically 75% - 80% of the time. May be required to travel internationally on a minimal basis.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle for extended hours.
- Routinely required to lift approximately 50 Ibs.
- Must be capable of standing/sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use computer keyboard and hand tools.
- Must be able to project their voice in a noisy environment.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Ohio is $65,100–$97,700 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
