Director of Site Operations: UK & IOM
Location: Deeside (Frequent travel required to other sites).
Reporting into the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Site Operations; UK & IOM manages and directs all activities related to production operations and facility management by performing the following duties personally or through accountable managers and their staff across the UK and Isle of Man sites.
Major Accountabilities1. Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency and profitability of the overall business
2. Responsible for monthly Sales, Inventory, & Operational Planning (SIOP) process, driving operation excellence into the business ensuring timely submission of approved forecast data into the finance department to support the month end forecasting process
3. Develop and maintain Operational business plans to include all program requirements, labour requirements, cycle times, production costs and infrastructure
4. Leads the Supply Chain organization; ensuring suppliers meet their delivery commitments (OTD & Quality), fulfilling the end customer requirements
5. Ensure the integrity of the Sites QMS is maintained and followed by all employees, maintaining all necessary site qualifications and certifications including AS9100, PART21G and PART145
6. Own and develop the production sales forecast monthly identifying all risk and opportunities to achieve meeting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
7. Responsible for maintaining the appropriate inventory levels across the business to ensure delivery to our customers and the AOP with adherence to inventory accuracy metrics
8. Ensure all production deliveries are met through on-time execution of ERP schedule manufactured jobs
9. Drive a continuous improvement/lean mindset throughout the production floor, participating in lean events, Kaizens and the drive towards Zero Defects
10. Ability to assimilate ERP data, develop predictive trends, and provide guidance to internal/external customers to “as demonstrated” production, future rate loads, and capacity planning
11. Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization, contractors and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
12. Drive operational culture to embed EH&S policies
13. Responsible for developing 5-year Capex and investment plan in support of the AOP, identifying bottlenecks and identifying mitigation options
14. Responsible for ensuring detailed product routings are available for the business, including inputs to standard costing models
15. Works with Engineering team to transition development products into full rate production through “Operations Launch” process and ensures “design for manufacturing” input is an integral part of new product development
16. Maintain a high state of operational readiness of the facility, preventative maintenance, and oversight of all facilities and property upkeep.
17. Achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of site product lines and all the constituent processes required to manufacture them
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Business (Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace) Finance, Business Admin etc
Minimum Years of Experience Required: Ten years working in a management position with a strong, demonstrated background in shop floor operations, product flow, & data analytics
