About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Branch Manager II provides leadership, support, and direction to all aspects of branch operations, ensuring superior service is consistently delivered to internal and external customers. This role is accountable for achieving branch growth in line with strategic plans, developing high-performing teams, and actively representing the Bank within the community. The Branch Manager II also ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, while managing business development efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Branch Growth & Marketing
- Lead branch-level marketing discussions and initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing Director.
- Actively participate in branch budgeting, cross-departmental meetings, and manager forums.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new customer acquisition and deepening of existing relationships.
- Develop and implement branch sales goals related to deposits, loans, and referrals.
- Monitor local market conditions and competitor activity, report trends to the Regional Retail Manager.
- Drive strategic execution of growth initiatives aligned with Bank goals.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the market to influence sales plans and performance strategies.
Team Development
- Direct the daily work of retail staff including scheduling, assigning tasks, conducting evaluations, and training.
- Recommend hiring, termination, advancement, and other employment changes.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and recognition to build a culture of accountability and engagement.
- Lead by example through superior customer service and support of operational standards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions that enhance team performance and branch outcomes.
- Support compliance and customer experience through branch observations and follow-up coaching.
Community Involvement
- Represent the Bank in civic, business, and community events to enhance its presence and reputation.
- Build relationships with local leaders and organizations to promote business development.
- Share competitive insights and best practices with peers in other markets to support enterprise-wide growth.
Retail Operations
- Conduct regular, unannounced audits of teller drawers, vaults, and negotiable items.
- Oversee vault cash management and shipment verification processes under dual control.
- Maintain operational proficiency in third-party systems related to customer records, cards, checks, and identity verification.
- Support and oversee the execution of teller and retail staff responsibilities, including daily balancing and end-of-day procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
- Manage physical branch needs including equipment, supplies, and general maintenance.
- Assist with branch opening/closing and provide weekend support when necessary.
- Remain current on all bank products and services in order to effectively assist and educate customers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in similar job duties.
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
