Position Summary

The Commercial Loan Servicer supports the servicing of the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan portfolios. This role is responsible for the accurate administration of commercial loans throughout the servicing life cycle, including loan booking, billing, escrow administration, collateral tracking, payoff processing, and servicing support.

The Commercial Loan Servicer performs day-to-day servicing activities and works closely with lenders, borrowers, and internal partners to ensure accurate loan servicing and compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

This position is intended for professionals with experience supporting commercial loan portfolios within a financial institution.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Service commercial loan portfolios including CRE, C&I, construction loans, commercial lines of credit, participation loans, SBA loans, and interest rate swap loans.
• Book, fund, and maintain commercial loans on the Bank’s core system.
• Process servicing transactions including construction advances, renewals, modifications, payoffs, and partial releases.
• Calculate and validate loan interest using amortized and simple interest methodologies.
• Review and validate loan billing, amortization schedules, rate adjustments, and payment applications.
• Establish and maintain escrowed and non-escrowed loans, including taxes and insurance.
• Respond to servicing inquiries from commercial borrowers, lenders, and internal partners.
• Resolve routine servicing issues and escalate complex matters as appropriate.
• Perform post-closing and quality control reviews to ensure accurate loan setup and documentation.
• Maintain collateral records including mortgages, assignments, and UCC filings.
• Process loan discharges and collateral releases.
• Provide documentation and support for internal audits, regulatory exams, and loan reviews.
• Ensure servicing activities comply with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize loan servicing systems, workflow tools, and reporting platforms to support operational efficiency.
• Participate in cross-training and support servicing activities across loan portfolios as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• Ability to commute to South Easton, MA for a hybrid schedule 2-3 days on-site
• Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant banking experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of commercial loan servicing or loan operations experience within a financial institution
• Exercises independent judgment in identifying, researching, and resolving servicing issues, and takes ownership of assigned processes/loan portfolio
• Experience supporting CRE and C&I loan portfolios.
• Knowledge of loan interest calculations, billing processes, and collateral tracking
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking technology platform
• Working knowledge of collateral and lien structures, including mortgages and UCC filings

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with COCC, Loan Vantage, or LenderLink
• Experience servicing participation loans (BancAlliance or similar programs)
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, CRM platforms, or workflow automation tools
• Experience supporting audit remediation, process improvement, or system implementations

The pay range for this position is based on the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Actual pay will depend upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, business or organizational needs, affordability and market pay. The posted range may be modified in the future as market data or organizational priorities change.

Physical Demands

This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
