The VP Client Engagement Retail is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth, retention, and long-term client satisfaction among top-tier retail accounts. This role requires developing and executing strategic account plans, managing multi-level client relationships, and ensuring alignment across operations, sales, and product teams. You will lead RFP responses, oversee client issue resolution, and provide executive-level insights to optimize client engagement. The position offers an opportunity to influence strategy, foster high-impact relationships, and support innovation in customer experience. Success in this role demands a combination of analytical thinking, operational excellence, and exceptional communication skills. Travel to client locations is required to maintain strong, hands-on engagement. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and building a high-performing team to achieve client and business objectives.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic account plans for assigned retail clients, tracking progress and reporting outcomes to senior leadership
  • Lead RFP responses and ensure proposals align with client objectives and business priorities
  • Build and maintain multi-level client relationships, acting as a liaison and client advocate while ensuring prompt issue resolution
  • Partner with internal teams—including operations, sales, marketing, and product—to communicate trends, client needs, and strategic recommendations
  • Analyze market and client data to identify opportunities for growth, retention, and expansion of services
  • Oversee a team, providing coaching, mentoring, and leadership to drive high levels of client satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Attend client meetings, conferences, and industry events to strengthen relationships and support strategic initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in retail, analytics, or related client engagement roles with a strong track record of business growth
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, operations, marketing, product management, and business development
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives
  • Strong customer engagement and relationship management skills, with multi-level account oversight experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% as required
