The Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial plumbing and drain systems. This role focuses on delivering high-quality service, presenting service-type and menu book pricing options to customers, and contributing to company performance through strong technical skills and customer communication. The Service Plumber plays a key role in achieving company KPIs while ensuring a positive customer experience.

What You’ll Do as a Service Technician

Key Responsibilities

Plumbing & Drain Service

• Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, water lines, and drainage systems
• Perform drain cleaning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
• Handle service calls ranging from minor repairs to complex plumbing issues
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and up to code

Customer Interaction & Sales

• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, solutions, and pricing
• Present menu book/service-type pricing options for all recommended work
• Educate customers on repair vs. replacement options
• Build trust and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

Service Execution

• Complete service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Properly document all work performed, materials used, and recommendations
• Follow company procedures and service standards

Performance & KPIs

• Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
  • Average ticket size
  • Conversion rate (sold vs. unsold estimates)
  • Revenue per call
  • Call completion efficiency
• Strive to improve performance through ongoing training and coaching

Equipment & Inventory

• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
• Ensure proper stock levels on the truck for efficient service delivery
• Report any equipment issues or shortages

What We’re Looking For

• 4-5 years of experience as a lead plumbing technician (required)
• Service Titan experience (preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and drain cleaning
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues efficiently
• Experience with or willingness to learn menu pricing/service-type sales
• A professional, positive, and energetic attitude
• A clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Honesty, dependability, and a commitment to customer service

Preferred Skills

• Experience with drain equipment (cable machines, jetters, cameras)
• Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar software
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Sales-oriented mindset with ability to present options confidently
