  • Position Summary
    The International Air Freight Export Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing the movement of goods via air export while ensuring compliance with company procedures and applicable local, national, and international regulations. This role provides end-to-end customer service, including quotation support, documentation, vendor and agent coordination, and shipment troubleshooting. Duties may evolve based on business and operational needs.

    Key Responsibilities
    Documentation & Data Management
  • Prepare, process, and route Master and House Air Waybills in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Enter accurate shipment and cost data into transportation management systems.
  • Record Proof of Departure and Delivery information within required software platforms.

  • Customer & Partner Coordination
  • Manage key customer accounts, including U.S. exporters and international shippers/consignees.
  • Provide timely shipment updates using web-tracking tools and status reports.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with carriers, vendors, and overseas agents.
  • Address customer escalations and assist in resolving shipment-related issues.

  • Operational Execution
  • Send pre-alerts and shipment documentation to customs brokers and destination agents.
  • Request freight rates from vendors and coordinate rate negotiations with overseas partners.
  • Prepare customer quotes that balance competitive pricing and company revenue goals.
  • Ensure the team’s adherence to applicable Export Compliance rules and internal SOPs.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and participate in advanced export training sessions.

  • Financial & Billing Support
  • Gather, verify, and enter job costs accurately for billing and posting.
  • Coordinate with quoting personnel or independently manage quotation requirements.


  • Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or Transportation & Logistics, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of international air freight experience with an emphasis on air export.
  • Experience with freight forwarding software such as CargoWise, SAP TM, or Gateway.
  • Knowledge of export regulations, documentation requirements, and air freight pricing.

  • Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and contribute ideas for process improvement.
  • Mathematical proficiency with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Work Schedule & Environment
  • Standard 8-hour workday with required meal and rest breaks.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance is expected.
  • Moderate noise level in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.

  • Physical Demands
  • Regular physical demands: Walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; use fingers for keyboarding; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

  • Compensation & Benefits
    Salary Range: $29.50 - $37.80 Hourly Range
    Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
