About the Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Cardiology Clinic plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This position involves working closely with cardiologists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient assessment, treatment, and education. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patient vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with diagnostic procedures specific to cardiology. By providing compassionate and attentive care, the LPN helps ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhances the overall patient experience within the clinic. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice within the United States.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a cardiology or related healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and common cardiac conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a cardiology clinic or cardiovascular specialty unit.
- Advanced certifications such as Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or other relevant cardiac nursing credentials.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in cardiology practices.
- Demonstrated ability to educate patients on chronic disease management and preventive care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills tailored to diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine patient assessments including vital signs, weight, and symptom documentation relevant to cardiac health.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist with cardiac diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, stress tests, and blood draws, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Educate patients and their families on cardiac health management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic policies.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and provide emotional support during clinic visits.
