Production Test Technician at Mitek Corporation – Phoenix, Arizona

POSITION SUMMARY

Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyzing results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron.
• Perform preventative and retroactive maintenance of test equipment and systems.
• Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
• Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
• Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
• Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics, using hand and power tools.
• Operate programmable AC auto tester, sampling and real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and special AC test fixtures.
• Assist with training new technician’s product-specific troubleshooting, quality guidelines, and AP system testing.

EDUCATION

Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE

One to three years’ experience in electronics.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer Skills

• Intermediate MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, AIM, and Outlook)
• The ability to learn internal MiTek systems as needed

Other Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and test equipment
• Supervisory/leadership experience or ability
• Use of Test equipment
• Must be adept at soldering/de-soldering both Surface Mount and Through-hole components.
