This role requires a construction leader who has successfully delivered data center projects from greenfield through commissioning and closeout, while maintaining rigorous control over safety, schedule, budget, and quality. Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the on-site “eyes and ears” of the owner, overseeing the safe delivery of mission-critical data center projects
  • Serve as a virtual extension of the Owner’s Project Team, maintaining close alignment on goals, constraints, and expectations
  • Lead end-to-end construction delivery from site mobilization through commissioning and final closeout
  • Create and maintain the Master Project Schedule and Budget
  • Ensure compliance with owner standards for safety, quality, cost structure, and on-time delivery
  • Manage General Contractor compliance with contracts, budgets, schedules, change orders, and payment terms
  • Perform contractor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis, and provide award recommendations
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure alignment with client design guidelines and standards
  • Perform constructability reviews and value engineering of project documents
  • Assist with permitting and coordination with local authorities having jurisdiction
  • Support project cash planning, forecasting, and cash flow projections
  • Identify, scope, buy out, and schedule Owner-direct vendors and consultants
  • Oversee commissioning plans, punch lists, substantial completion, and final completion activities
  • Negotiate, resolve, and close out change orders, quality issues, and disputes
  • Prepare and submit final project accounting and budget closeout documentation
  • Implement communication plans and governance for project documentation and reporting
  • Track project progress against approved budgets and schedules and develop action plans to address gaps
  • Serve as the primary escalation point, driving accountability and rapid resolution of issues

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of construction management or general contractor experience
  • 5+ years of mission-critical or data center construction management experience
  • Demonstrated success delivering greenfield data center projects through closeout
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction design, bidding, and execution
  • Proven cost management, forecasting, and schedule control experience
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence decisions
  • Comfortable working with financial details and connecting them to the broader project strategy
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams and present to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related technical discipline
  • Local to Salt Lake City, UT or Phoenix Metro
  • Experience with colocation data center projects
  • Material management, logistics, or supply chain coordination experience

Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position may operate in a combination of office, remote, and active construction site environments, depending on project assignment and business needs. Employees must be able to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in both professional and field conditions.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain when on-site.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to travel to and between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions and exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and construction-related odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and other personnel while maintaining situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots are required when visiting or working on active construction sites.
  • This role requires visual acuity sufficient to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
