Join the opening team at the brand-new Holiday Inn Express & Suites Overland Park South, a 99-room hotel located in the growing Bluhawk development in South Overland Park. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a modern, professionally managed hotel from the ground up and be part of establishing a strong team culture from day one.

The Room Attendant (housekeeper) is responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Clean and prepare guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Change bed linens and replenish guest amenities according to standards.
- Perform rotation cleaning tasks (e.g., steam cleaning carpets, deep cleaning).
- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve complaints professionally.
- Maintain housekeeping carts and ensure proper stock of supplies.
- Ensure security and privacy of guest rooms.
- Report maintenance issues and assist with basic repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs).
- Follow hotel policies and safety procedures.
- Update room status on assignment sheets and return carts at end of shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Fast-paced environment with physical demands
- In-person, regular, predictable attendance is essential to the position
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time while cleaning and servicing guest rooms
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, and twist while making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and restocking supplies
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of linens, trash, cleaning supplies, and equipment, generally up to 30–40 pounds
- Ability to push or pull housekeeping carts throughout guest floors and service areas
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use cleaning tools, handle linens, operate vacuums, and use mobile devices or inspection tools
- Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, wet surfaces, and varying temperatures
- Visual ability to inspect room cleanliness, maintenance concerns, and safety conditions
- Auditory and verbal ability to communicate with coworkers and respond to guest requests or safety needs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations
