Job Description

Position SummaryPrimary responsibilities include coordinating the weekly and daily shipments for all the Consumer Product shipments. The Shipping Coordinator will also review and maintain the customer routing portals to ensure that all customer shipments are scheduled on time and documentation is prepared as required. This person will also verify that all shipping terms are correct and all ASN’s are sent daily. This role will work closely with Customer service and our customers preferred carriers to ensure that we are meeting all our customer’s needs.

Essential Functions
  • Manage all outbound shipments and customer routing portals, including:
      Domestic Shipments, LTL / FTL / Small Package
  • Exports and Imports
Utilize TMS software to track metrics and analyze shipping data Arrange transportation services as required to ensure all pick-ups are met.Provide warehouse and logistics team pick orders in advance for customer sales orders. Coordinate, manage and archive documents of all inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveryRoute shipments correlating to customer’s shipment guidelines Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, international trade regulations, and company policiesCommunicate to Management when inventory in ERP is incorrectDistribute all documentation. Transfer all original documentation to Financial ServicesCommunicate with Sales and CSRs to coordinate and ship products in a timely manner
  • Communicate in advance and log all late orders
      Carrier issue / Production Issue / Logistics & Warehouse issue / etc.
  • Become familiar with the needs and demands of each customerCoordinate carrier and shipment in customer routing portalsVerify that all shipments are confirmed and ASN’s send as shipments leave our facility.Train backup and keep that person updated on new customer requirements and portals. Train and mentor others to lead process improvement initiatives to reduce shipping errors with root cause analysis.

    Secondary Functions

    Position Specifications
      5 years of experience in Shipping and Logistics preferred. Should have a high school diploma or higherExperience using Epicor or similar ERP systems is a must. Must be able to read information and numbers, make basic mathematical calculations and write legibly.General knowledge of data entry on computer terminals and inventory control.Knowledge of shipping procedures and best practices/regulations for freight handling industry.Strong skills in Organization, Time Management and Communication
