- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, software licenses, partnerships, and joint development agreements.
- Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and contracting frameworks to standardize and improve legal operations.
- Design, implement, and manage compliance programs covering areas such as data privacy, regulatory obligations, corporate governance, and safety requirements.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, HR, marketing, government affairs, and business development.
- Advise on regulatory matters related to autonomous systems, transportation laws, and product deployment across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support external counsel coordination for litigation, intellectual property, regulatory filings, and specialized legal matters.
- Monitor evolving legal and regulatory landscapes and translate changes into actionable business insights for leadership.
- Deliver internal training programs on compliance, contracting standards, and risk management practices.
- Assist with corporate transactions, governance matters, and equity-related legal support as needed.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or equivalent legal qualification.
- 5–8 years of legal experience, combining law firm and in-house roles; experience in tech, automotive, mobility, or robotics is highly preferred.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and supplier agreements.
- Proven ability to design or manage compliance programs, policies, or internal controls.
- Substantive expertise in at least one area such as regulatory law, product liability, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, APPI), or employment law.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in ambiguous, high-growth settings with strong ownership and autonomy.
