We are seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician to support engineering and production operations through metallographic analysis, external testing coordination, and technical documentation. This role plays a key part in ensuring material quality, supporting process improvements, and assisting engineering projects across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare metallographic samples through sectioning, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching
Perform micro and macro material analysis to evaluate structure and quality
Coordinate and track outside testing for production and engineering needs
Support engineering projects including research, equipment sourcing, and process improvements
Conduct time studies and assist with production process evaluations
Develop and maintain controlled documents such as SOPs, JSAs, and forms
Assist with material certifications and technical reporting
Support quality, production planning, and operations teams with data and analysis
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or coursework in Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy preferred
Experience in metallurgical lab work or manufacturing engineering support preferred
Skills & Knowledge
Metallography and specimen preparation
Basic statistical and data analysis
Strong organizational and time management skills
Technical writing (SOPs, reports, documentation)
Measurement tools and calibration basics
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Computer and data entry skills
Strong communication skills
