About the Role
The account services representative manages customer service and utility operations, including accounts, billing, meters, scheduling, and collections for water, wastewater, and solid waste, while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service on via call centre, email, LiveChat, and online applications
- Maintain customer accounts, service locations and meter information
- Handle and respond to customer inquiries regarding water service, billing, usage, meters, and account status, providing professional assistance even during difficult interactions
- Book appointments and generate service orders for meter installations, exchanges, and maintenance
- Perform routine account collections
- Assist customers with starting, stopping, or transferring water service
- Educate customers about water conservation, rate structures, and service policies
- Generate and review bills for accuracy
- Resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, or questions about consumption
- Investigate abnormal usage
- Address customer complaints related to water pressure, leaks, or service interruptions and route them to appropriate teams
- Operating folding and inserting equipment
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications
Qualifications and Required Skills
The successful candidate will:

- Have exceptional customer service, communication, and computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Be highly organized, deliver accurate quality work with attention to detail
- Contribute to a cooperative team environment
- Be able to move between jobs/stations when required
- A minimum of one-year business/office administration Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset
- Experience in billing and collection processes is an asset
- Working knowledge of water meters and reading technology is an asset
