HOURS


This is a full-time position requiring regular in-person attendance.


The Accounts Payable & Payroll manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end accounts payable and payroll functions. This role ensures timely and accurate processing, compliance with banking regulations and continuous improvement of financial processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in financial operations within a large or highly regulated environment.

Accounts Payable Management

  • Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and disbursements


  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets


Payroll Management

  • Manage and oversee payroll processing for a large, multi-state employee base
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Coordinate with HR on employee data, benefits deductions, and compensation changes
  • Review and approve payroll reports, tax filings, and reconciliations
  • Assist with annual budgeting process to include compilation of data and benefit calculations


Leadership & Strategy

  • Supervise and mentor AP and payroll staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
  • Develop and improve policies, procedures and workflows for efficiency and compliance
  • Collaborate with internal departments including HR & Internal Audit.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and ensuring adherence to financial controls.


Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with banking regulation, internal policies, and financial reporting standards
  • Maintain records and documentation for audit readiness
  • Assist with variance analysis as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable and payroll, preferably in banking or financial services
  • 2+ years of management or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and financial controls

Key Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with heavy emphasis on Excel
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, banking software applications
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Integrity and commitment to confidentiality


Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Experience in a large, complex, or highly regulated organization
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit processes
  • Familiarity with AvidXchange (Ascend) and ADP
  • Banking or accounting experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of computer screens
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and use hands and fingers for handling, reaching, and typing
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
  • Intermittent standing, stooping, bending, walking, kneeling, or crouching
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods during the workday
  • Long periods of typing and repetitive motion
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds
