About This Position
Legacy Building Solutions is an established and growing fabric building manufacturer that specializes in highly custom, large and specialty fabric structures. We are seeking a structural detailer to join our team. Detailers are responsible for modeling, producing shop drawings, erection drawings and develop detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tension fabric structures using Tekla.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tensioned fabric structures using Tekla.
- Designs structural steel buildings in accordance with verbal explanations, sketches, customer drawings, specifications, written descriptions/explanations and standard engineering practices
- Develops drawings for manufacture, components and assembly of tensioned fabric structures
- Prepares 2D/3D modeling of structures
- Reviews drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Detail and design using Tekla Structures to detail, check, model, create part drawings etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's degree in Drafting; experience may be substituted for schooling
- Experience with modeling software.
- Tekla structures experience required
- Knowledge of construction and steel industry preferred.
- Familiarity with business software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to self-managed multiple projects and work within deadlines
- Work in a team environment with sales team, engineers, designers and drafters on projects
- Ability to evaluate alternatives and resolve technical issues
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 10 pounds.
- Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
