Technology Support Technician I at Maine Public Employees Retirement System – Augusta, Maine

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a Technology Support Technician I to join our IT Network and Operations team. This position is responsible for the Work is performed under limited supervision. This is the entry-level position in the Technology Support Technician Job Series. Responsibilities include:

• Installation, operation, maintenance, and end-user training of user desktop computing equipment and peripherals.
• Assisting in the daily operation of the MainePERS data center.
• Installation and support of desktop computing equipment.
• Installation and support of printers.
• Tracking and ordering of supplies and spare equipment.
• Resolving Tier 1 help desk ticket requests.

This position’s pay includes a 5% premium.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications:

• Four (4) years of experience working in a computer operations environment providing a solid working knowledge of computer operations.
• Nine (9) college credits in Computer Science.
• OR other equivalent experience and/or training demonstrating comparable knowledge.

Preferred qualifications:

• An Associates degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
