Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen operations in a dynamic restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food production. Help us create memorable dining experiences through exceptional culinary expertise.
Duties
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management and food safety compliance.
- Training and supervision of kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to best practices in food preparation and hygiene.
- Prepare ingredients by following Berry's on Main recipes and standards.
- Complete meal preparation by sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients; verifying doneness and taste; assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
- Stocks, preps and maintains necessary food inventory for each shift. Rotation of food items. Wrap, label, date and stores all for items in there proper place.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
- Utilize proper knife skills for efficient meal preparation.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and innovative cooking techniques.
- Effectively scheduling kitchen staff while maintaining labor standards.
- Ability to manage food costs within standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef/Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and menu planning.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and other departments.
- A passion for cooking and helping others through food, with an emphasis on creativity in meal preparation.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
