Security Officer at Lucas Oil Products Inc – Corydon, Indiana

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for the surveillance of the building and the safety of all personnel.

? Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.

? Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.

? Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.

? After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.

? Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.

? Conducts inspection of personal belongings or packages due to reasonable suspicion at the guidance of HR, Plant Management or the Safety Director.

? Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.

? Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.

? Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

? Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.

? Authoritative verbal communication skills.

? Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

? Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.

? Security positions require you pass applicable drug screen and background check required by state regulations

Education/Certification/etc required:

? High school diploma or equivalent required.

? A minimum of 2 years' experience as an armed guard preferred.

? This position requires individuals to have or be able to obtain and maintain active guard and firearm permits or licenses on a current basis as required by state regulations.

? Must currently have and be able to maintain an active driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

? First aid, CPR AED certifications (preferred)

Physical Requirements

? Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.

? Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.

? Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

? Must be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio.
