Transporter/Driver/GB at Ashtabula County Medical Center – Rock Creek, Ohio

Provide non-emergency transportation of patients and assume responsibility for various errands.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalency degree and good communication skills.
• Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality.

Required Length and Type of Experience

• Must hold a current valid driver’s license as required by the state and have an excellent driving record as verified by the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Required Licensure or Certification

• Must satisfactorily complete CPR and first-aid training provided by Glenbeigh or provide certificate indicating prior successful completion of such training.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

• Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with patients.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and position patients frequently.

• Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.

• Potential exposure to injuries and illness

• Frequent need to handle emergency or crisis situations

• Exposure to a variety of weather conditions.

• Potential exposure to the risk of blood borne diseases.
