About This Position
This is the entry-level position in the Technology Support Technician Job Series. The Technology Support Technician provides essential technical assistance and support to end users while ensuring smooth daily operations of technology systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Installation, operation, maintenance, and end-user training of desktop computing equipment and peripherals.
- Assisting in the daily operation of the MainePERS data center.
- Installation and support of desktop computing equipment.
- Installation and support of printers.
- Tracking and ordering of supplies and spare equipment.
- Resolving help desk ticket requests in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience working in a computer operations environment providing a solid working knowledge of computer operations
- Nine (9) college credits in Computer Science.
- OR other equivalent experience and/or training demonstrating comparable knowledge
Preferred qualifications:
- An Associates degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Salary: Begins at $ 47,132 if annualized
This position shall receive a premium of 5% of base compensation.
