Job Summary

The Gastroenterology (GI) Technician performs duties relative to patient care. The primary purpose is to respond and assist the Gastroenterologist and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff of GI during the pre-procedure, procedure or post-procedure period. This position will assist with procedure room set-up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year medical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Required to complete the SGNA GI Associates program and receive the certificate of completion within 18 months of employment.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Work Schedule

• Varied Shifts, 7:00am-4:30pm, occasional weekend/holiday/call; 72 hours every 2 weeks
  • Approx. 1 out of every 10 weekends!
  • Approx. 1 holiday every other year!

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $18.50 - $25.75 per hour
