About This Position

Position Summary: Responsible for providing overall project management for small - medium existing and new broadband/telecom and/or electric energy projects out of the Project Management Office. This position will provide effective communication, planning, and logistics for Finley projects, project teams, and client representatives. Assist project teams in all phases of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the sales and client engagement activities process as directed by the Client Vice President, when applicable.

• Understand project requirements, leads and coordinate all planning and documentation efforts (project scope, delivery schedules, status, risks etc.) on multiple small- medium and projects.

• Lead and coordinate all planning, management, and end-end execution and delivery of assigned projects including PLF/initiation process.

• Coordinate with all internal stakeholders including admin on project sale and setup process.

• Help facilitate the estimation process and manage the financial aspects throughout the project lifecycle including invoicing and during project scope changes.

• Assess and manage impact of project or client changes on budget and other project facets.

• Lead project issues resolution or escalate issues to the mentors as appropriate (scope changes and management, resources issues etc.).

• Define scope management, coordinate project changes and logs, contract coordination.

• Lead communication and collaboration efforts between project and cross functional team and client representatives and all other internal and external stakeholders.

• Generate meeting agendas, write meeting memos/minutes, etc.

• Lead in establishing clear roles and reporting expectations.

• Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills across and display the potential and coachability to improve.

• Lead and coordinate relationship and work functions between engineering, mapping, and operations relevant to successful project delivery.

• Possess the ability to read industry maps.

• Understand industry terminology/symbology in the mapping/design process (OSP, ISP).

• Understand urban/rural basic industry concepts aerial/buried basic concepts.

• Possess and desire relevant knowledge of our business and the customer domain Finley operates in.

• Stay current with industry standards and trends including learning the following: industry terminology, acronyms, federal state and local organizations, vendors, contractors, technologies.

• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Education: Associate degree in a related field or high school diploma in combination with directly related work experience.

Experience:

Required:

• Completion of at least 8 hours of project management training.

• Understands principles and methodologies of project management.

• 2-5 years project management experience in the broadband industry with a focus on fiber to the home (FTTH).

• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to team members, mentors, and stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience effectively leading and coordinating project teams.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

• Project management certification from PMI (Project Management Institute), Certified Scrum Master, or similar.

Licenses: A valid motor vehicle driver’s license in good standing is required. No DWI/DUI convictions.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors:

• Work is primarily computer work, and most assignments are performed in an office type environment. Will occasionally work at off-site locations. May include some physical labor and environmental distractions such as changes in climate and topography. Physical hazards may be present.

• Flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time.

• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• Occasionally may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, dust, and wind.

• May occasionally have to handle and/or resolve high stress situations.


Work Location: Remote #LI-Remote

Travel: Travel approximately 10% of the time.
