Community Growth Intern – Geriatrics Outpatient Clinic (Paid)
Location: Field-based / In-Person
Employment Type: Paid Internship (Part-time or Full-time)
Compensation: $22.00 - $27.00 Hourly (competitive; healthcare experience–appropriate)
Internship Overview
The Community Growth Intern will work closely with clinic leadership and the Community
Growth Manager to support community outreach, referral engagement, and patient access
initiatives.
This internship provides direct exposure to geriatric healthcare delivery, community-based
healthcare growth, patient access workflows, and caregiver-facing engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach Support
Assist with outreach to Assisted Living and Independent Living communities
Support outreach to community organizations serving older adults
Help coordinate and attend community events, educational sessions, and health talks
Assist with preparation and distribution of clinic materials
Patient Access & Engagement
Observe and assist with patient and caregiver education on geriatric-focused care
Support warm handoffs to clinic scheduling teams
Help identify and document common barriers to patient access
Clinic Growth & Operations
Track outreach activities and engagement outcomes
Maintain referral lists and outreach logs
Support initiatives designed to increase clinic awareness and utilization
Learning & Professional Development
Shadow providers and clinic staff as appropriate
Participate in team meetings and planning discussions
Gain exposure to healthcare operations and patient flow
Qualifications
Current student or recent graduate in a healthcare-related or business-related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable engaging with older adults and caregivers
Organized, reliable, and eager to learn
Interest in geriatrics, primary care, or healthcare systems preferred
