Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping staff to ensure guest rooms, suites, and public areas consistently meet the hotel's standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role is responsible for training, supervising, and conducting regular inspections to uphold quality and guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Room & Public Area Inspections

  • Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms, hallways, and corridors for cleanliness, appearance, and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Prepare work orders for carpet cleaning and document room or hotel discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic walkthroughs of all public spaces and correct or report deficiencies.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Train, monitor, and evaluate the performance of room attendants and house attendants.
  • Provide clear organization, instruction, communication, counseling, and guidance while reinforcing company quality standards.
  • Prepare and submit performance reports for all team members in assigned areas.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within the shift.
  • Maintain clean, neat, and properly stocked carts and linen/supply closets according to departmental guidelines.

Inventory & Quality Control

  • Perform inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure VIP rooms are fully stocked with appropriate amenities.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies such as plumbing issues, lighting concerns, broken mirrors, windows, or other damages via work orders.

Guest Service & Operational Support

  • Expedite guest requests such as extra towels, pillows, blankets, or amenities.
  • Respond to guest questions and provide assistance, directions, and information as needed.
  • Report all lost-and-found items to security or the designated coordinator.
  • Cooperate with other departments to ensure smooth operation and high guest satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by housekeeping management.
  • Maintain dependable, consistent attendance as an essential function of the role.

What You'll Bring

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., reach, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and push/pull heavy equipment.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow supervisory instructions.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and support to guests and team members.
  • Hearing and visual ability to detect emergency situations or safety hazards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning agents, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Ability to extend arms and scrub for extended periods.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide performance oversight to team members.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Three years prior Housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses or Certificates

  • CPR Certification preferred.
