Roles & Responsibilities
You'll be an important part of a team delivering quality software. This could lead to a more senior role requiring you to show autonomy, initiative and good judgment. You will help define, implement and continuously improve a testing strategy, aiming to automate as much as possible.
You'll work in an agile environment with product teams and business analysts to ensure that tickets are clearly understood and are testable. You'll collaborate with your peers across QA, engineering and other disciplines both in Sofia and in London to advocate a test-driven development approach and evangelize the importance of quality.
You'll find these skills useful in this role:
* A solid understanding of testing methodologies, principles and tools
* A collaborative and engaging approach to team-driven outcomes
* A willingness to broaden your knowledge of testing by learning new skills, tools and approaches
What we're looking for from you: You're a seasoned QA professional who can make right judgment calls based on a sound knowledge of the testing pyramid and best practices. Your experience has covered the breadth of testing, including APIs, microservices, UI, load, performance, security, and perhaps contract testing. Maybe you have previously written performance tests for high traffic websites and understand its impact on improving SEO.
You are familiar with shell scripting, AWS and Docker and know how to create a test automation framework from scratch.
We love knowledge sharing, so ideally you'll feel comfortable presenting to internal teams as well as external Meetups, representing the QA work at News UK.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years working experience in Web Applications development and testing automation.
* Good experience in Javascript based frameworks like (e.g. Cypress, Jest, Mocha, PactJS).
* Good experience in Visual testing like (e.g. BackstopJs , Applitools and React Storybook).
* Good experience in API's, load, performance, security, and perhaps contract testing.
* Good experience in CI/CD using Jenkins/CircleCI.
* Strong adoption of BDD/ TDD and is able to articulate the experience
* Strong experience in designing, documenting, and implementing test frameworks in a service-oriented environment.
* Strong experience in Javascript language.
* Good to have knowledge on GraphQL applications (including Apollo).
* Strong experience in AWS and Docker.
* Hands-on skills with subversions like SVN, GIT etc.
* Ability to handle deployments and manage release processes.
* Well versed knowledge across project development processes and life cycles.
* Capability to demonstrate skills towards Team / Peers management(if applicable).
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to any changes both technical and process-related.
* Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools.
* The ability to recognise risks and errors in an application.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Extensive experience of working as part of Agile teams.
