Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are currently seeking a positive, hard-working, self-motivated individual to join our fantastic team as our Recreation Lead/Supervisor at our island-inspired resort.

THE JOB:

This role reports to: Fitness and Recreation Manager & Director of Resort Operation

We are looking for positive, hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our fantastic team and assist us in making things better. You will provide excellent guest service and assist guests with check-in and access to the facilities. As well as be responsible for supervision of Recreation Attendants and delegation of tasks needed to operate all aspects of the Fitness & Recreation Departments. The Recreation Lead/Supervisor will work alongside their fellow Recreation Lead/Supervisors, Recreation Attendants.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supervisory role in a recreational facility preferred
  • Proven ability in communication and a collaborative work environment
  • Creative personality with organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Positive, upbeat personality, desire to learn and able to multi-task
  • Hours will vary-- flexible schedule required
  • Able to transport and lift 35lbs and have no issues standing/walking around for long periods of time
  • Work closely with other Club Attendants and guide on duties.
  • Provide direct feedback and communication with the Recreation Manager.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software programs

Working Hours: This is a full-time position. Working hours may vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The schedule will be based on business needs and may be subject to change.

  • Pay Range of $19 - $21 per hour
  • Overtime range (depending on rate of pay) $28.50 - $31.50 per hour
