About This Position
We are looking to hire a full-time Accessories Buyer (Handbags) for DNAM Brands.
In this role, you will own the buying strategy and execution for handbags across our portfolio of iconic brands—including Von Dutch, Ed Hardy, Trina Turk, Valentino Orlandi, and Badgley Mischka. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities in the market, building assortments, and driving product that aligns with both brand positioning and commercial performance.
This is a highly autonomous role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is comfortable making decisions with imperfect information. You will play a key role in shaping product direction, influencing margin, and driving revenue growth within the accessories category.
2–4 years of buying experience, preferably in accessories or handbags
Prior experience at off-price or department store retailers (e.g., TJ Maxx, Ross, Burlington strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of handbag market trends, pricing, and competitive landscape
Proven ability to build and manage assortments that drive revenue and margin
Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and take ownership
Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and making decisions with limited data
Strong analytical skills with experience in sales performance, inventory, and margin analysis
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Own the end-to-end buying process for handbags, from concept through purchase order
Identify and source product opportunities aligned with brand direction and market demand
Build and manage seasonal assortments that optimize for sales, margin, and inventory turn
Analyze sales performance and adjust buying strategy based on key insights and trends
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
Negotiate pricing, terms, and quantities to maximize profitability
Partner with Design and Production to ensure product aligns with brand standards and timelines
Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to inform buying decisions
Manage inventory levels and reorders to support business needs
Work across a portfolio of globally recognized fashion brands
Direct impact on product strategy and revenue performance
High ownership role with significant autonomy
Opportunity to grow within a dynamic fashion organization
