OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Consistent with Company rules and governmental regulations, coordinates all customer orders and product movement with terminal services, vessels, transfer and storage facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assure Odfjell Terminals (Houston) Inc. product transfer and storage facilities are utilized as efficiently as possible in the execution of customer orders.
- Contact Customer Service if modifications are needed or to clarify orders.
- Coordinate preparation and issuance of all orders and instructions to Operations regarding specific client needs and handling requirements.
- Coordinate inbound/outbound vehicles of conveyance to comply with operation and client requirements.
- Escalate all agent complaints/non-conformances so they can be entered into Intelex
- Complete all documents needed to process client orders. Distributes documents to Operations and all other pertinent units or individuals.
- Ensure prompt and orderly processing of all client orders and service requirements in a manner designed to create maximum customer satisfaction and repeat business, in the most cost-effective manner possible.
- Communicate with Customer Service Representative, common carriers, and surveyors to ensure full understanding of customer needs and product handling requirements.
- Oversee compliance with all quality control procedures, rules and regulations that affect product movement to assure that client orders meet all Company and governmental requirements.
- Provide the necessary level of expertise, training and experience needed to carry out the above accountabilities in a professionally satisfactory manner.
- Conduct daily meetings with operations and customer service on the upcoming marine movements.
- Handle NOR’s with the agents and advise operations.
- Follow company policies and comply with company regulations. Cooperate and support colleagues.
- Cross-train to become competent in covering for rail, truck and inventory specialist positions
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- In case of absence, the employee’s supervisor will assume and/or assign responsibility for this position’s duties.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Problem solving skills
- Able to coordinate multiple services, data and people in an alert and organized manner that focuses on results and customer satisfaction.
- Able to work well with people so that proper coordination between clients, personnel and suppliers can be achieved in the most harmonious and efficient way possible.
- Specific knowledge of Planning Department functions and product movement of chemical liquids by various modes.
