About This Position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Operations to lead and oversee multi-company operations, drive performance, and ensure exceptional service delivery as we continue to grow.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across Global Cleaning Services Corp., Refresh Cleaning, and 4U Supplies, Inc.
  • Ensure efficiency, compliance, and consistent service quality across all client sites.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

2. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and manage Area Managers, Site Supervisors, and operations staff.
  • Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and training programs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop leadership pipelines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

3. Client & Account Management

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients.
  • Ensure contract compliance and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead client meetings, reporting, and service reviews.
  • Resolve escalated issues quickly and professionally.
  • Support business development efforts, including renewals and expansions.

4. Financial & Business Management

  • Develop and manage operational budgets in partnership with Finance.
  • Monitor labor, supplies, and operational costs to maintain profitability.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance metrics.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

5. Supply Chain & Equipment Oversight

  • Coordinate with 4U Supplies to ensure effective procurement and inventory management.
  • Oversee distribution of supplies and equipment across all sites.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and lifecycle management of equipment.
  • Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible cleaning practices.

6. Process Improvement & Technology

  • Drive operational improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Implement and optimize systems for scheduling, payroll, and reporting (e.g., Paycom or similar).
  • Track and analyze KPIs (customer satisfaction, labor efficiency, quality scores).
  • Introduce innovative practices and technologies to enhance service delivery.

7. Emergency & Crisis Management

  • Lead response to urgent service needs (e.g., floods, spills, emergency cleanups).
  • Coordinate communication between clients, vendors, and internal teams during critical incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in janitorial, facilities, or service operations.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations and large teams.
  • OSHA certification and/or green cleaning certification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and equipment.

Work Environment

  • Location: Virginia Beach, VA (with travel throughout the Hampton Roads area)
  • Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday, with flexibility for evenings/weekends as needed
  • Travel: Regular local travel required
