About This Position
Recovery Development Specialist
Recovery Development Specialists are responsible for designing and implementing specialized
programs within the center, such as workshops, educational sessions, and recreational activities.
They work closely with clients to assess their needs and interests, develop tailored programming,
and evaluate the effectiveness of the programs offered. They collaborate with other healthcare
professionals, community organizations, and support networks to ensure comprehensive care and
ongoing recovery-oriented systems of care for program participants.
Social and Recreational Activities (plan)
Staff will work with participants to develop social and recreational activities that promote wellness.
Staff will present the plans to program coordinators and request funding support as needed
Activities and workshops will be listed at drop-in centers and on website
Key DIC Wellness Programs to focus on
- Medical Referrals: One key wellness program offered in a Community-Based Drop-In
Center is providing referrals to medical professionals. This service helps individuals
connect with healthcare providers for physical and mental health needs, ensuring they
receive proper medical attention and care.
- Housing Workshops: Another important program is workshops on housing. These sessions
aim to educate individuals on housing options, rights, and resources available to them. By
providing information and guidance on housing issues, the drop-in center helps participants
secure safe and stable living conditions.
- Employment Workshops: The center also offers workshops on employment to help
individuals gain job skills and access employment opportunities. These sessions provide
training on resume building, job search strategies, and interview preparation, empowering
participants to enhance their employability and financial stability.
- Nutrition Workshops: Nutrition workshops are another key component of the wellness
programs at the Community-Based Drop-In Center. These sessions focus on promoting
healthy eating habits, meal planning, and understanding nutrition labels to support overall
well-being and physical health among participants.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work with diverse cultures, individual and family differences
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of word and excel

- Professional grooming and dress
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Positive teamwork skills with other staff, individuals served by the agency, and other resources in the community
- Current, valid Montana state driver’s license
- Clear cps and criminal background checks/or Approved
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Office work experience in a medical or mental health agency
- Experience using computers, excel and word
- Positive, customer oriented, professional presentation
