About This Position
Job Summary
The Driver Sampler is a field-based role responsible for traveling throughout the Northern California territory including Oakland, San Leandro, Concord, Richmond, and Modesto, to collect, securely handle, and transport cannabis samples from licensed client facilities to the laboratory for both compliance and R&D testing. The Driver Sampler spends most of their day traveling between client sites, performing hands-on sample collection, verifying required documentation, and safely transporting regulated materials and payments back to the laboratory. As one of the primary points of contact for our clients, Driver Samplers play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring all sampling activities meet California regulatory requirements and company procedures.
General Duties:
• Travel to client locations to perform on-site cannabis sampling collection.
• Verify, collect, and accurately complete all required sampling documentation, chain -of- custody records, and compliance paperwork.
• Ensure all samples are properly labeled, secured, stored, and safely transported to the laboratory.
• Collect, document, and securely transport cash and non-cash payments ensuring proper reconciliation and timely disposition upon return to the lab.
• Serve as a professional, knowledgeable, and customer-focused representative while interfacing clients daily.
• Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset when addressing client questions, concerns, or logistical challenges.
• Communicate regularly with internal teams, including Client Services and Logistics, Sales, and Laboratory Operations.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, traffic laws, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Maintain assigned vehicles in safe and operable condition and report issues promptly.
• Manage sampling kits, supplies, and inventory.
• Exhibit flexibility with work hours, including potential extended days due to travel distance or client scheduling needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record are required to perform the essential functions of this role.
• Comfortable with extensive driving and frequent stops.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Cannabis industry experience preferred
• Prior driving or field-based experience at plus
Compensation and Benefits
• Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour (base pay), depending on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:
• This position involves regular driving and fieldwork. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to drive for extended periods of time (up to 8 plus hours per day)
• Ability to frequently enter and exit a vehicle.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on sample collection.
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport materials up to approximately 25-30 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as labeling, documentation, and sample handling.
• Ability to work in a variety of client environments, including indoor production and storage areas.
Travel:
• Regular and extensive travel is required throughout the Northern California region
• Assigned territory may include Oakland, San Leandro, Concord, Richmond, Modesto, and surrounding areas.
• A company-provided vehicle is assigned for business travel only, in accordance with company vehicle policies.
Schedule:
• Full-time
• Primarily Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Workdays may vary in length due to route distances, traffic, and client scheduling needs.
Work Location:
• Field-based position
• Work is primarily performed on the road and at licensed client facilities.
• Employees are required to report to the laboratory as needed to deliver samples, submit documentation, complete assigned duties, attend periodic training or meetings.
