Burn ICU Nurse (RN) | Critical Care & Specialized Recovery
The Mission
The Arizona Burn Center is more than a hospital wing; it is a place of transformation. As a Burn ICU Nurse, you will deliver high-intensity, expert care to patients facing some of the most complex injuries in healthcare. Working under the Nurse Manager or Executive DON, you’ll be the clinical anchor for patients and families during their most critical moments.

- Critical Care Expert: You’ll manage high-stakes, age-appropriate care for the critically ill, from precision medication administration and complex wound management to advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
- Strategic Collaborator: You are a vital part of a world-class interdisciplinary team. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with specialized surgeons, therapists, and support staff to navigate the long-term recovery journey.
- Patient Advocate & Educator: In the ICU, you are the patient’s voice. You’ll lead assessments, develop tailored care plans, and advocate fiercely to ensure every patient receives compassionate, dignifying care.
- Clinical Leader: Beyond the bedside, you’ll help shape the future of burn care through leadership initiatives, quality improvement projects, and the mentorship of fellow nursing professionals.

Eligible for a night shift differential of 18% and weekend shift differential of 8% of the employee’s base rate of pay.

Requires a Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.

Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.

Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.

Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.

Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain PALS within six (6) months.

Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year.

Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.

Bilingual is preferred.

Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.

Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.

Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
