About This Position

Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations of our hotel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the hotel's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee all aspects of hotel accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the hotel's financial performance.

- Collaborate with department heads to develop financial strategies that align with the hotel's goals.

- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

- Manage audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations that may impact hotel operations.

- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and safeguard company assets.

- Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities.

- Lead, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

- Monitor cash flow, manage budgets, and assist in financial planning and forecasting.

- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

1. Financial Reporting:

o Support GM in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

o Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

o Conduct regular financial analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.

2. General Ledger Management:

o Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable,

reconciliations, and journal entries.

o Oversee cash management and bank reconciliations.

3. Compliance:

o Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax laws and filing requirements.

o Liaise with external auditors for annual audits.

4. Payroll Management:

o Process payroll accurately and on time.

o Track employee hours, benefits, and deductions.

5. Inventory and Cost Control:

o Manage accounts for food and beverage costs, room supplies, and other operational

expenses.

Support the corporate director finance and General Manager with special projects and ad-hoc tasks as

needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.

- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting software and financial management systems.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with effective communication skills.

- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements.
