Job Overview

  • Location: Memphis, TN (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Facility).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, Weekends, and Overtime as required.

  • Project Scope: Federal / Healthcare Construction (VA Medical Centers).

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour, First Aid/CPR Certified, and a Valid Driver's License.

The Opportunity You will serve as the primary field leader for high-stakes federal medical construction, managing the critical intersection of site supervision, quality control, and safety. This "Triple Hat" role offers the autonomy to drive complex project execution while mentoring a dedicated team within a culture that treats employees like family. Your expertise will directly impact the quality of facilities serving our nation's veterans.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Direct the total construction effort to ensure every phase aligns with federal project documents, strict budgets, and aggressive timelines.

  • Execute comprehensive site safety programs, ensuring all field work meets or exceeds OSHA and EM385-1-1 regulations for a zero-incident environment.

  • Coordinate daily field activities and weekly subtrade meetings to maintain a seamless workflow across complex, multi-phase medical projects.

  • Manage the Quality Control (QC) program by verifying all onsite materials match approved submittals and enforcing high-standard installation protocols.

  • Implement strict ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) standards to protect patient health and maintain facility integrity during active medical campus builds.

  • Mentor and educate Level 1 and Level 2 Superintendents, fostering professional growth and leadership excellence within the field operations team.

  • Resolve real-time logistical and technical issues on-site, acting as the proactive bridge between subcontractors, project managers, and government officials.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of autonomous construction leadership experience, with a proven track record in federal or complex private-sector medical projects.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting federal contract documents, architectural plans, and EM385-1-1 safety rules.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large crews and manage multiple projects within a live client campus environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain detailed daily digital logs and field reports.

  • Willingness to travel to various project assignments across the Southeast region upon completion of current assignments.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.

  • Advanced technical proficiency in Procore project management software and Primavera P6 scheduling.

  • Specific experience managing U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) construction projects.

  • Knowledge of 3-phase control systems and specialized medical facility MEP requirements.
