This role provides a unique opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing accounting team while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial operations. You will oversee daily accounting activities, manage internal controls, and serve as a key liaison with auditors. The position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic leadership, driving process improvements, team development, and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial reporting, safeguarding assets, and implementing best practices across general, operational, and cash accounting. This role allows for significant impact on organizational decision-making and supports the overall financial health of the business. - Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team, providing performance feedback, career development, and training opportunities
- Develop and maintain metrics, reporting standards, and workflow documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
- Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and reports
- Identify and lead business process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure safeguarding of company assets, including cash, fixed assets, and inventory
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and acting as a primary point of contact
- Manage cash accounting functions, bank reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies, while maintaining procedural and control documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
- 2+ years of experience supervising employees or leading teams/projects
- CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA exam within the first six months preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/accounting systems (SAP preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships across all organizational levels
- Experience with large process improvement initiatives and ability to translate strategy into actionable results
