About the role

A Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse operations, including operating a forklift to load and organize stock, verifying pallet accuracy, and maintaining inventory records. It ensures proper stock rotation, accurate documentation, and high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping across the facility. The position also involves supervising staff, training new team members, coordinating stock takes with the kitchen team, and assisting the packaging team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

What you'll do

• Operate forklift to organize and load stock into trucks
• Check pallet labels : Quantity, expiring date, and store name are correct
• Monitor pallet amounts & ensure correct numbers
• Oversee that the packing area is clean at the end of the shift
• Ensure that picking slips are correctly completed
• Ensure housekeeping of the storage area is to standard
• overseeing the general operations of a warehouse and its staff.
• Handle the recording and maintaining of inventory, advising the imports received and items exported.
• Train new workers and ensure their performance is adequate.
• Implement stock rotation system
• Manage stock takes – lease with the kitchen team.
• Assist the packaging team to ensure their duties are fulfilled.
• Work with leadership team to maintain high standards of practice across the site.

Qualifications

• Valid Forklift License
• Experience working in a fast paced warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Good Verbal and Written Communication skills – to liaise effectively with the Dispatch and other departments
• Developed interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach working with cross functional teams
• Positive and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment
• Be computer literate to undertake administrative tasks as required
