The Ramp/Dispatch Manager oversees the coordination and execution of aircraft fueling and ramp activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time service. This role manages dispatch and fueling teams, aligning daily operations with flight schedules, safety standards, and performance goals while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate fueling activities to provide safe, efficient, and timely service for customers by performing duties personally or through team members
  • Review flight data including scheduled and estimated arrival and departure times, destinations, and downline stops to plan and prioritize work activities
  • Direct and coordinate operational functions to ensure personnel and equipment are available for fueling and defueling services
  • Manage and support team members within fueling and dispatch operations including training, scheduling, assigning and directing work, monitoring performance, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring completion of required company training programs
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Oversee daily dispatch functions including staffing levels, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Serve as a Flight Dispatcher as needed to support operational continuity
  • Coordinate with aircraft and airline representatives and fueling personnel to ensure accurate communication, service delivery, and operational planning for incoming flights
  • Maintain accurate operational records and support planning for upcoming flight activity
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks, including federal fingerprinting, in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties, including secured areas, in compliance with airport and federal regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background checks and clearance requirements as determined by the contracting agency
  • Experience leading or supporting teams in fast paced operational settings
  • Proficiency with computer based systems, operational software, and administrative tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation fuel handling, ramp operations, or logistics
  • Experience in dispatch, scheduling, or operational coordination in aviation, transportation, or related environments

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to address routine operational challenges
  • Basic mathematical proficiency
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English as required to perform job duties and support safe operations in the airport environment, including during emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems, including data entry and common workplace applications

Physical and Environmental Requirements

This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially

hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that

must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without

Mobility and Access

  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places
  • Must be able to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights
  • Must be able to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet

Standing and Movement

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions
  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as connecting fueling hoses

Lifting and Carrying

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
  • Must be able to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed

Manual Dexterity

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls

Sensory Requirements

  • Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms
  • Maintain the following vision capabilities
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors)
  • Peripheral vision (see up/down and side-to-side while focused on a central point)
  • Depth perception (assess distance and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (sharpen vision at various distances)

Environmental and Working Conditions

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
