Data Center Infrastructure Architect

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Center Infrastructure Architect in the United States.

This role is focused on designing and optimizing large-scale, enterprise-grade data center infrastructure that powers global cloud and AI workloads. You will play a key part in shaping the physical foundation of highly scalable environments, including servers, networks, GPUs, and supporting facilities. Working at the intersection of architecture and hands-on engineering, you will ensure infrastructure is resilient, efficient, and built for high performance. The position involves close collaboration with internal engineering teams, vendors, and facilities partners to deliver robust deployments across global data centers. You will contribute to strategic planning while also validating real-world implementations on-site. This is a high-impact technical leadership role where your designs directly influence global infrastructure reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and architect physical data center infrastructure, including network, server, GPU, rack layouts, cabling, power, and cooling systems
  • Develop and evaluate hardware deployment strategies, including BOM creation aligned with scalability, redundancy, and security requirements
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to define infrastructure standards and ensure alignment with business and technical needs
  • Oversee installation and implementation processes, working with facilities teams, contractors, and vendors during data center builds and expansions
  • Validate physical deployments against architectural designs and troubleshoot hardware or connectivity issues as needed
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including diagrams, cable schedules, and infrastructure records for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with project management teams to track infrastructure delivery timelines and execution milestones
  • Support knowledge sharing and training for internal teams on physical infrastructure design and operations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in server infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a senior architecture or design-focused role
  • Strong experience working with colocation, hyperscale, or enterprise data center environments
  • Deep understanding of networking hardware, cabling systems, and physical infrastructure design
  • Expertise in server hardware, storage systems, and infrastructure configuration at scale
  • Solid knowledge of data center operations, including power, cooling, monitoring, and facility standards
  • Working knowledge of Linux and common network operating systems
  • Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects from design through deployment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple complex priorities
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $125,000 – $140,000 (based on experience, location, and skill set)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% employer-paid premiums for employee-only plans
  • 401(k) plan with 100% match up to 4% and immediate vesting
  • Paid time off, holidays, and rollover policy, with increased PTO at tenure milestones
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years and annual anniversary bonus
  • Professional development reimbursement ($2,500 annually)
  • Remote work support including home office setup allowance and equipment stipends
  • Internet and wellness reimbursements (including gym membership support)
  • Inclusive, equal opportunity workplace with strong commitment to privacy and data protection
