Foreman in Columbus Area, Ohio at Geotex Construction Services Inc

General Responsibilities

• Day to day planning, supervision, and management of crew, equipment and materials
• Oversee installation of storm, sanitary and waterline projects along with earthwork & grading operations in compliance with plans & specifications and local jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety policies
• Professionally communicate with crew members, managers, clients, and inspectors
• Understand and set up various types of construction technology (GPS, Lasers, Levels, etc.)
• Ensure accurate adherence to plans while maintaining schedule and budget
• Track daily production, materials, as-builts, timesheets, hourly tickets, toolbox talks, etc.
• Perform punchout and testing for installed work
• Exhibit knowledge in the safe operation of various types of heavy equipment
• Occasionally operate various types of heavy equipment, including
• Excavators, dozers, track loaders, compactors, haul trucks, scrapers, etc.
• Performing other tasks as directed by General Superintendent and/or management

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally and to lead a crew
• Leadership skills in managing others
• Valid driver's license and insurable motor vehicle record
• Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, municipality requirements, layout staking, grades, and benchmarks. Experience with Trimble GPS a plus
• OSHA 30 and knowledge of safe working procedures in sitework and trenching applications
• Ability to maintain a high level of awareness and perform tasks in a safe manner at all times
• Ability to retain and apply information and instructions provided by management
