About the Role
As the Detail Supervisor at Don-Mor Automotive Group, you will play a key role in preparing vehicles for delivery, ensuring every car meets our high-quality standards. You will work closely with the Production Manager and a dedicated team to inspect, clean, and finish vehicles from both our retail customers and collision shop. You will also oversee workflow, mentor team members, and maintain high cleanliness and quality standards in the detailing department. This position offers an opportunity for growth and leadership while contributing to the overall success of our team and company.

Key Responsibilities

Detailing Responsibilities

  • Mark and photograph all existing damage on vehicles upon arrival.
  • Perform incoming checklists, including damage assessment, electrical lights inspection, and input into the computer management system.
  • Degrease vehicles, including door jams and wheel wells, and power wash vehicles.
  • Label windows and install appropriate flags and hats.
  • Prepare vehicles for customer delivery, including cleaning windows, vacuuming interiors, and washing & chamois exteriors.
  • Complete Quality Assurance checklists to confirm all vehicle functions are operating correctly before customer delivery.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Assist with ad hoc duties as required (e.g., garbage collection, premises cleaning, grass cutting, securing building and vehicles at night)

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily detailing operations to ensure workflow efficiency and consistent quality standards.
  • Lead, train, and mentor team members, reinforcing proper techniques and best practices.
  • Monitor performance and conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company and customer expectations.
  • Identify and resolve detailing challenges, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper handling and use of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and management to support smooth operations and productivity.
  • Provide regular feedback to management on team performance, inventory needs, and process improvements.

Qualifications
  • Positive attitude with strong leadership presence and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Demonstrates high self-motivation, initiative, and accountability in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively while guiding team performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Keen attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality vehicle care.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to support daily operations and team coordination.
  • Class G or G2 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Automotive detailing experience is an asset; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
