Finance Controller at Jobgether – India

In this role, you will take a strategic and hands-on approach to building and optimizing financial systems across multiple entities. You will play a key role in strengthening accounting practices, improving financial visibility, and enabling data-driven decision-making at the leadership level. This position goes beyond traditional finance operations, focusing on designing scalable frameworks, robust models, and compliant reporting structures. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to bring clarity to complex financial environments and implement sustainable solutions. • Design and implement a cohesive financial systems architecture across multiple entities, including chart of accounts and reporting structures
• Develop and formalize accrual accounting practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial reporting
• Build and maintain integrated financial models, including multi-year forecasting, scenario analysis, and cash flow projections
• Create dashboards and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making (e.g., burn rate, funding runway, grant utilization)
• Standardize financial processes such as reconciliation, budgeting, and re-forecasting frameworks
• Align financial systems with regulatory and compliance requirements across jurisdictions
• Document financial policies, processes, and systems to ensure long-term sustainability and knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with leadership and finance teams to refine systems and deliver milestone-based project outcomes

• 7+ years of relevant experience in finance, including senior-level roles such as Finance Director or CFO
• Professional qualification such as CA, CFA, or equivalent
• Proven experience designing and implementing financial systems and architecture across multi-entity environments
• Strong expertise in accrual accounting, financial modelling, and forecasting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for complex modelling
• Experience with financial tools such as Tally, Zoho, or similar systems
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including Indian Section 8 entities, FCRA compliance, and US 501(c)(3) structures
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and deliver actionable solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
